I was bored... so I found a pretty interesting video about how television controls our lives nowadays and how detrimental it is.

Television is a drug. from Beth Fulton on Vimeo.

So everyone in this class has been in science and we talked about superconduction. I was searching for one and it was quite interesting and showed how science could be interesting. This video introduces how superconduction works and a possible experiment on how one could make a superconductor. The video is really quite interesting and worthy to watch.

nice music

The best martini ever. This video shows construction and engineering skills, as well as ideas you can learn from and use.

The idea that one could make such an interesting machine with a very limited function is rather amusing.- Frank
Hmm.. I thought I wrote a lot more. Anyways, this video deserved my vote since it shows in a way how our lives are so controlled by machines nowadays. While this may be an extreme example, the fact that modern society has so many things makes us so lazy compared to olden times. While a machine like this is rather amusing people centuries ago make look the same at a lamp. Why not just light a candle. Society has modernized greatly but has also become so reliant on machines that we may not even be able to move in a couple centuries since everything can be done for us. -frank

Very entertaining, the very concept of a Rube Goldberg machine simply astounds me. Although I've never seen a cocktail with a cucumber in it, this video is not only an impressive feat of tactical planning, timing, and not to mention patience, but the fact that it puts all of those together into something we all love and enjoy (cocktail). That makes this my number one choice. - Alex (Blake) Wu

I have to agree with Alex (Blake) on this one. I also like the Rube Goldberg machines for the complexity of it and what goes through to make one. Also the knowledge of how simple machines work for that is what the whole concept is made up of. This video earns my vote because i see the hard work and planning that goes into it as well as it's ability to help people to understand just how machines work. - Zane

^MUST WATCH. WILL CHANGE YOUR LIFE. THOSE WHO VOTE GET'S A HIPPO SIZED UNICORN :D

Austin - I found this video extremely inspiring and I completely agree with the message it is sending to people. For whatever reason guys in particular who have a talent in the arts will will try to show it off to get girls or just to impress people in general. The real purpose of dancing, music, art, etc is to communicate with people in a creative and unorthodox way. I thought that the message was very well conveyed and worked really well with the music. Overall this was an amazing video.

A clip from Mythbusters. Shows you what happens when you choose not to maintain your water heater. I guess you could call this educational.

This inspirational video shows the the very heart of 2 cities, shot entirely with cell phones using street signs. It teaches you to have compassion and have sympathy for others. A heart-breaking short film paired with beautiful music. The music is really amazing, it makes the video that much more interesting. Enjoy.

I really like how this video speaks about homeless people from an outsider view, and how it uses cellphone pictures to convey the message. The music also seems to flow with the message; well chosen.-Edward

This inspirational video is about Louis Braille, a blind boy who was playing in his father's workshop and accidentally caused his injury at the age of 3. This video shows that if you believe in something and have the will power to complete it, then you must take the risk. It also shows that you must consider all the circumstances of what may occur from the decision taken.

Videogame Addiction

This is a PSA made for a project about videogame addiction.

Johnson Qian: Whoever made this video is a genius. I like every single part about it, the music etc.

MUSIC PAINTING - a message about global warming

This video uses an interesting way to get a very important message across. The art and music is amazing, and the entire video is almost mesmerizing. To fully understand the meaning behind this video, you just have to watch it :)

This video was very intriguing. The way that the music flowed gave a soothing and relaxing feeling. It was very relaxing to listen to and the pictures went along with the text in perfect order. Overall, I enjoyed the video. ~ Birunthaa

I thought this video was very intriguing. The whole concept was very creative, they were able to somehow add art in to music notes. The music and the art matched together very well in harmony. The art is was very beautiful, the music was also very sweet. The message it sends is also very important. I enjoyed this video very much. -Amy

I was pretty impressed with this person's drawing skill, and the I think that the music fit the message perfectly. Put together, a very intriguing and effective way of portraying a message. Great video. -Tim

I beleive that this video is very interesting due to the fact that the song was playing as the notes were written down. Also the song is nice. - Kevin Lee

I'm partial to music and art, so this video had a more lasting impact on me than the others. It was very simple, which was also a plus. I feel like the message was very well conveyed as watchers will be drawn in by the visuals and music and continue watching it to the end. - Katherine

OLD SPICE COMMERCIAL

The above commercials show how peoples characteristics are predictable and can be used to create a sucessful commercial

I watched this before but I loved watching it again. Very interesting transitions between each ad and it was very creative overall. It was an effective commercial because of the dialogue and the way the information was presented.

aaMAO ZEDONG-
"STRENGTH THROUGH UNITY, UNITY THROUGH FAITH." ~Communists.
AMao Zedong is one of the most controversial political players of all time. While often compared to the likes of Hitler and Stalin, many people from mainland China still worship Mao Zedong as a savior, metaphorically likening him to the sun itself. Historical and educational relevance here is obvious, as is philosophical importance.

AThe video itself is a set of clips from Mao Zedong's life. Music is the revolutionary opera "The Red Detachment of Women", famously played to Richard Nixon during his 1972 visit.

I found the video above interesting as it is always awesome to see pathetic people in power. Communism in ideal circumstances would be effective, but because humans are defective organisms it nearly always fails.
-Adam

I found this video very interesting, as it is quite amazing how one, such as mao, would rise to power, given his background as a peasant. His acomplishments and his contribution to the country very different from others. I liked the part in the video where he was taking a photoshoot with the schoolchildren, and he was amongst them, with them all being equal. It can show how thoughtful, and how humble of a person he is.
I also like what he did outside of this video, and the results of his work.

Hi-Power T-Shirt Cannon

Hi-Power Nerf Cannon

Both of these videos shows air pressure (which is taught in science) being used as a method to launch projectiles,
and if you actually tried to make these, you could also be affected by physics as well (flight of projectile determined by velocity, and distance).

How to make a Jenga pistol

This video is to show you how you can easily, by using basic materials, have fun with a previously simple game. It uses some engineering skills and is quite fun.

BEAUTIFUL SLAVE Song About Child Slavery And Human Trafficking TAKE NO GLORY

Human Trafficking - A Human Rights Video

Both of these are about Human trafficking and slavery. Both songs have burnt a trail of sorrow in my heart for those children in human trafficking & slavery; even though you might not think much about this, I can almost guarantee that the songs for both of the videos would send you a message of abused human rights, but only you know whatever feeling you've felt after watching it.

A video about two countries, one being very low on the HDI and the other very high.

I think this completely obliterates (pwns) everything else.
-Julie.

Good job babe. B).
-Alan.

I think the video was a really interesting way of presenting facts of two countries. Very creative and amusing to watch :)
-vivian

This video is beautiful and if it doesn't bring even a smile to your face, you must be a stone cold robot. It must be one of the best creative portrayals of an interesting way to present geography.
-SingYu

I remember seeing this back in grade 8. After seeing it again, I sill throughly enjoyed it due to how creative it was, including the countdowns to the different sections of the topic, along with the fact that you tried to make it rhyme and "lyrical". It's still weird how you got a lower mark, but it was a great video overall. :D

Inspiring Wheel-chair BMX video.

Aaron 'Wheelz' Fotheringham - Wheelchair Action Sports from Unit Clothing on Vimeo.

This is a video about a boy who has been in a wheelchair all of his life and has taught himself how to do BMX tricks at parks using his wheelchair.
I think it is an amazing example of how determination will outweigh any limitations you might have in life.
